196,000 Miles and going strong

The only rust is in on the rear of each side in front of the wheel. I'm in the middle of fixing that now.

1988 Grand voyager SE. I bought if from my Dad when it had 124,000 miles on it in 1997.
I retired it in 2007 with 300,872 miles on it. I really liked that van but my mom backed into
the driverside mid way in the body up to the drivers door in 2004. My dad had been
in the I.C.U. unit at their local hospital for 60 days when mom backed into the van.
The window wouldn't wind down, so for a few weeks I had to open the the door to
pay the tolls running back and forth from N.J. to central P.A. every weekend.
Dad didn't make it but time goes on. Dad and I always called the grand voyager
the good car. Before his passing when I went there for visits He would always
ask, " Did you bring the good car" ? By 2007 one of the head gaskets was leaking
again it was time for a new timing belt, the water pump was leaking again and
the fuel pump was going bad. It was rusting bad on the rocker panels by
the rear wheels and of course the left side was caved in. Along with over 300,000
miles I just could not put any more money into it. It was a sad day for me
the day I drove it to the junk yard. I got $170 dollars for it and that part of my life
sat in the scarp. It did serve me well.
I drive a 1999 Grand caravan sport I bought new that now has 169,200 miles on it
My wife drives a 2007 grand sxt but it has low miles so far.

2001 Chrysler T&C LXI 3.8 AWD

164,000

Just purchased 3 months ago. Replaced battery, alternator the first week with 160 amp one (this didn't please the wife), and coil "pack". engine and trans seem to be very strong and the AWD works well on gravel hills. I hope it does well in the snow as well. I LOVE this van!
We have an 01 grand caravan awd with 111111 on it, and love the awd in the snow. IT handles better than a 4X4 in my mind because the rear wheels dont overpower the fronts as readily as they do in a 4X.

My first caravan went to 285,000 + before it went to van heaven. Had 198,000 on the 1999 before accident. Now have 161,000 on current 2001.

Just a point of information, that it is a known fact that 1 NYC mile is the equivalent of 10 Rockville, MD miles!

I grew up in NYC and I now live in Maryland, and I can tell you that my 2003 T&C, with 97K miles, would not be driving like brand new if I had been living in NYC.

Also, if I just made loops around the USA, I could probably go 500K miles without a problem. Look at the long distance trucks.
We just returned a 6,300 mile west coast trip. While many of these were easy highway miles others were VERY hard on the van. Hot,hilly, sandy, wet and rough to name a few. The toughest we found was traveling in and around Kings Canyon National Park in CA. You leave from the orange grove area, drive 9+ steep miles up hill to get to the park. When you get into the park you have to drive 9+ very steep miles down hill if you want to get to the canyon river area. Then its 9+ miles back up out of the canyon and then 9+ miles back down to the orange grove area and civilization. We did this all in the span of 1 day in 90 degree heat. The trans and the brakes sure take a beating!
Happy to say the van ran like a champ like always and the views and memories were all well worth the trip.
Here is a shot from the base of the canyon.

PS: Somebody has to have miles on their van then us, no?
My friends, co-workers and family think we are nuts for driving this old van around the country for all of these years/miles and I'm starting to think we just might be?

2002 Grand Caravan 3.8 eX(like sport)
147000miles

van is a second car so i don't drive often but i don't hesitate to drive across the country. weekend trip 200+miles, no problem

i'm goign to fix the headliner, RR wheel bearing and entire brake overhaul soon... oh and cooling system. van leaks oil here and there but not enough to warrant a fix at the moment. very very dependable.

i also drove it through a big snow storm 36inches+ and van handled awesome!

love Dodge/Chrysler vans!

My van spent the first 3 years of its life in the Kings Canyon area, regularly taking us to the mountains to sled.

148875 miles. 2002 swb Voyager

Just retired to 2nd vehicle/driver training status. Changed the fuel pump over the weekend as maintenance. Will take it as a 2nd vehicle with our 2012 to WY with the church group this summer. I would drive it anywhere, as it has never, ever left me sitting.

My 2003 Caravan has 240,000 miles on it. My 2001 Caravan has 202,000 miles on it. Both have their original drivetrains and the 2003 spent it's past 30,000 miles with me towing cars behind it across the country. These things are great.

Have you ever thought about getting the 200k mile club bracket from Chrysler?

2001 Chrysler voyager 586000 km (362k miles) blew the engine after a water hose started leaking. this was not on regular petrol but on LPG!! could very well be one of the highest mileages on lpg.
2008 town country 3.8 170k miles still running perfectly on lpg
1993 Chrysler voyager 450000 km (281k miles) used long time then became spare vehicle and slowly and sadly rusted away. Did drive it to the car dump though! that after 10 years of sitting still!!
