On my 96 when you use the key to lock the van from the driver's door, you turn the key and the drivers door locks immediately. Hold the key to the lock position and everything locks. It doesn't have a key hole in the liftgate. Programmable features should be in your owners manual if there are any.

 

Prior to my battery issue (dead cell, low voltage), my 2001 T&C Limited would allow me to use the second remote (either one) to lock, unlock and open doors and hatch while the vehicle was running. I'm looking for any programming options to enable this again (also climate control delay no longer works, and the dashboard gauges quit working).

1. After I use the key to open the liftgate, I have to open the driver door and use the power lock switch to lock the vehicle. How can I use the key to lock the liftgate directly without opening the driver size door again?

2. It seems the only way to lock the vehicle is to use the power lock switch on the driver size door panel. I even can't use the key to lock the vehicle. For example, when I use the key to lock the minivan, only the driver size door is locked while other doors are still unlocked.

Is there any programmable feature to handle this issue?

My vehicle is 2003 dodge minivan, it is a manual one, no remote control / keyless enter key.

I typically so exactly what you are doing now. Using the driver door power switch to lock all the doors and lift-gate.

As for the physical key, I'll try what RIP said. Stick the key into the driver key hole, turn to lock and hold for 3 or 5 seconds and see if ALL the doors and lift-gate locks as well. I do recall a family member having a New Yorker that did this sort of thing with the key. This way, the door isn't opened to lock everything.
